Todmorden Youth Orchestra was officially founded in 2025 as a product of our orchestra project funded by Cultural Fund For Calderdale. Orchestra gives an opportunity for the more advanced players from our school orchestras in Todmorden to play at a more advanced level with more challenging repertoire, more intensive rehearsals and more public performances.
High points of TYO’s journey so far have been performances with Todmorden Orchestra, Supertramp Superstar John Helliwell and at Todmorden Book Festival and in front of and audience of about 1000 people at the grand reopening of Todmorden’s famous bandstand.
TYO rehearses fortnightly on a Saturday afternoon 2pm-4pm at Roomfield Baptist Church, Halifax Rd., Todmorden.
