Our Patrons

Rima Ahmed

Her own life experience has made Rima a powerful advocate for equal opportunities in education and for the transformative power of music in the lives of young people.

Much-loved as presenter of BBC Radio Leeds’ breakfast show, and of various programmes on Radio 4, 5 Live and World Service, Rima is an award-winning journalist.

We are very excited to be working with Rima in putting across our campaign message of equal musical opportunities for all children and young people.

Jon Boden

Having worked with Jon on our Colourchord project and being inspired by his total commitment to inclusion in music making.

Jon is one of Britain’s best-known folk singers, have risen to prominence performing with John Spiers and as the frontman of Bellowhead. He is the recipient of 11 BBC folk awards and 2 honorary degrees for his contribution to English traditional music, increasing awareness and access for all.

We look forward to working more with Jon to promote the social benefits of music in our community and to get all our young people singing in harmony!

John Helliwell

John Helliwell became one of Britain’s most influential saxophone players through his long career in the world famous prog rock band Supertramp.

Having grown up in Todmorden, John has a real passion for encouraging local musicians and highlighting the greatness of this remarkable little Pennine town.

As Music for the Many is also Todmorden born and bred, we are delighted to welcome John into our M4M family as a patron to speak out for and to inspire our young musicians.
