With funding from Cultural Fund For Calderdale we have set up Halifax Unity Youth Orchestra. This group enables children who have started learning with us in primary school to continue when they move on to different secondary schools around Halifax.
This is a very multicultural group and our repertoire reflects that. We love to play core orchestral repertoire by Purcell, Handel and Beethoven alongside songs from Kurdistan, Nigeria, India, Palestine and all the other places our families come from.
HUYO meets for rehearsal every fortnight on a Saturday afternoon 1.30pm-3.30pm at Halifax Unity, Queens Rd., Halifax.
