Daniel Bath – Artistic director – Keyboard, Strings, Voice and Brass
Jazz and classical pianist, ethnomusicologist and music education activist, Daniel has played the piano and composed music for as long as he can remember. He studied music at Cambridge University.
Since moving to Todmorden in 1997, he has worked as a community musician and teacher in all sorts of settings, including nursery, refugee centre, high school, church, prison, and has composed music for theatre, opera, choir and for community events. He has trained youth and adult choirs, and orchestra.
Daniel works as a tutor for Amber Trust, a charity for visually impaired young musicians.
He is also a specialist in multicultural music-making and has studied Indian classical singing. In 2010 he led Parkinson Lane Community Primary School Choir to be the first to perform Islamic song on BBC’s Songs of Praise.
All this and much more led to Daniel founding Music for the Many.
